Rongoā – medicinal use of plants
More than 200 plants were used medicinally by Māori. Harakeke (flax), kawakawa, rātā and koromiko had many recorded uses.

Te Kura O Papatūānuku students identified the medicinal use of native plants as one subject area they would like to learn more about in practical hands on learning so we are working towards developing lesson plans and information sheets to bring this important mahi to life.
