We were so proud of the kids for presenting and singing at the Earth School Finale!

The evening started with haka lead by Shae and Joe, then the SES singing group students sung,  I Am The Earth (- music & lyrics by Glyn Lehmann) led and accompanied by Rosa Dew on piano (at that point there was not a dry eye in the audience).

Students who chose to present and speak then spoke about what they had enjoyed and learned during the year attending Earth School weekly workshops and presented their plans for a sustainable science building and school farm.

The students worked hard on their speeches and worked as a team to screen print the logo onto t-shirts so that everyone had an outfit for the finale.

students from 5 to 17 presented their ideas, work and shared stories about what they had enjoyed the most about the project challenges.

We then went into the foyer and celebrated with cake and looked at the displays that had been up for public viewing all week.

The displays showed the kids work and the final design concepts for a school farm and for the building.

Special Thanks to Samson Dell who put in countless hours of work into translating the kids ideas into concept plan for an off grid building.

The treehouse and green roof were common themes as were the use of wood and natural building materials such as straw, clay and wool for insulation.
