Sustainable Enterprise Team
In 2017 a group of students from South End School and Kuranui College decided to consider the enterprise side of planning a school farm … we discussed crops such as lavender and made potential products such as kawa kawa balm and lavender bags … the students were passionate about providing alternatives to single use plastic and many of their products were developed combining an interest in learning how to sew and providing alternatives to single use plastic.
Markets
The sustainable enterprise team sell their zero waste products at several local markets - the Carterton Farmers Market annual plant sale in October - The Organic extravaganza at Thunderpants HQ in Martinborough during Organic week and the Te Kairanga Vineyard summer sunday markets in Martinborough. You can also find our products for sale at Food Forest Organics in Greytown and purchase a sustainable gift basket featuring our products from Pure Wairarapa
Sewing bees
The sustainable enterprise team combines students, parents, grandparents and could involve you if you would like to get involved!
Carterton Boomerang bags run working bees once a month and we combine forces to maximize the community skill sharing We meet at South End School hall on the third saturday of the month - follow our facebook page to find out exact dates.
