Funds generated, and food grown from Seed to Sale will be used to support our Healthy Kai in Schools project

Seed to Sale tunnel and shade houses will be used to grow our own heritage fruit and vegetables from seed and cuttings. Seedlings will be planted in South End Schools vegetable gardens and food forest and produce will be used in our Healthy Kai in Schools project. Excess seedlings and produce will be sold Carterton Farmers Market annual spring plant sale making this a self sustaining project.

Students will be involved in starting the seeds, grafting and taking care of the plants in the tunnel and shade houses with the help of Earth Schools garden educators. Students at South End School will be given the opportunity to help run the annual plant sale.

We are very grateful to Project Gro Philanthropants, with this funding we can buy all the goodies we need for inside our tunnel houses.
