Today was our last Earth School of the term.  The students had the opportunity to choose from 3 different activities.  They could either work with Tom to plant natives, continue with designing the farm or sew lavender  bags for sale at the labour weekend farmers market. The planting group enthusiastically dug up and split some of the existing school flaxes, and planted manuka trees.    They made good progress in planting out the area behind the new outdoor classroom.

The second group worked on the design of the school farm.  We discussed the permiculture design concepts and ideas we had gained from our time with Yotam Kay and worked on applying this to a master plan.  We looked at the plans the groups of students had already produced and worked to draw out the common elements that will go on the master plan.

The third group the 'sewing collective'  contunued to work to make lavender bags to sell at the farmers market.  We will work on costing them out next week.
