Composting zone in the outdoor classroom

New sign for the compost zone

As part of our Creative Communities grant we have received from Carterton District Council, senior students at South End School have been working with two local Artists Ngaire and Tom from Burnt offering and Formed by hand. The students have designed and researched a Pollinator trail and some interpretation for the compost area in the teaching garden space at South End School.

Students turn the compost in the compost zone

Tom has built a fence to contain the composting area and Ngaire has burnt a sign which is the first part of some composting interpretation signs that will form part of our composting zone teaching space.
